#i will never understand how people think that cersei sees jaime as a protector #i mean yes he was quite literally her swordhand #which he has lost now #but she handled everything perfectly without his help even before he was gone #she didn’t need him as a protector during all that time #i mean #just the whole ‘power is power’ scene proves that #cersei is perfectly capable of protecting herself #BUT SHE IS IN L O V E WITH HIM #FOR GODS SAKE #ITS A DYSFUNCTIONAL ABUSIVE FUCKED UP RELATIONSHIP #AND NARCISSTIC AS HELL #HE IS WHAT SHE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE #and now he comes back and is damaged like a mere human being #who he is #but what cersei has never seen in him #he was never mortal to her #and she loved him for that

but it’s just so perfect for their relationship, brienne grabs his fork with a sort of annoyance like, she doesn’t wholly want to admit that she’s grown fond of him, and jaie comes in real quiet and subtle,which i think is often his way of caring for people, which is probably something he learned a long time ago, that when he needed to care for tyrion and cersei he couldn’t be loud and he always needed to be gentle, because when he dealt with his family he was always walking a tightrope, jaime’s whole identity up to this point has been as the rock of his siblings who hate each other, hes stability and comfort to people who are sloppy and angry and scared and ready to pounce at any time, so taking care of brienne comes naturally to him in that way,
